Walt Disney World 2015 - Magic Kingdom Day 1!

December 11, 2015 ~ Today we would be visiting my favorite Walt Disney World park.... Magic Kingdom! It certainly lives up to it's name because it's absolutely magical here! I am so excited for the Adam's Family to spend a couple days at this awesome place!

I've gotta say that I love mornings here. As we walk past the big lake each morning and see nature's reflection in the water it just puts you in a good mood and ready to enjoy what Disney has to offer!

Our very first ride at Magic Kingdom was the Pirates of the Caribbean!

A Pirate’s Life for You

Wander a meanderin’ alleyway within a Spanish fortress and board a small barge for a spellbinding high-seas adventure. Escape through a shadowy grotto past the ghostly catacombs of fallen pirates and swoop down a small rushing waterfall—your passageway to the Golden Age of Piracy.
Behold boisterous buccaneers drunk on the spoils of plunderin’ during a 9-minute cruise amid the Old World. Sing along as windswept pirates serenade you with their classic anthem, “Yo Ho, Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me).” And even spy a sly Captain Jack Sparrow from The Pirates of the Caribbean film series along the way!
If Ye Be Seekin’ Adventure…
Take off on a treacherous voyage to the 17th century, when rowdy rogues and rapscallions ruled seaport towns along the Spanish Main under the watchful eye of “Jolly Roger.”
Popular sites you will encounter include:
Pirates Grotto
Home to Dead Man’s Cove and Hurricane Lagoon, this haunted realm recalls the struggles pirates endured on the open seas.
The Fort
Navigate through a shadowy bay, where a foggy Caribbean fort and a striking 12-gun galleon—helmed by Captain Barbossa—are locked in battle.
Town Square
Sail straight past a crowded marketplace of rambunctious scalawags, gleefully bidding in an auction for a bride.
Burning City
Looters and buccaneers sing a song of jubilation as flames engulf a seaside town.
The Dungeon
Trapped in a jail cell, freebooters attempt to lure a confused canine within reach to nab the prison keys he has in his mouth.
Dead men tell no tales, indeed!

Jaxon loved this ride!

Next up was the Jingle Cruise!
(In the Christmas time they change the name from Jungle Cruise to the Jingle Cruise!)

The Jingle Cruise

Join the homesick Jungle Cruise skippers as they set out on a holly jolly journey packed with shenanigans.  Each year during the holiday season, your favorite Jungle Cruise experiences transform into the Jingle Cruise—a festive-yet-familiar adventure, from stem to stern!  As you make your way through attraction queue to the boathouse and beyond, be sure to check out all the merry décor that’s been mailed to the skippers, or that they've created themselves. They’ve even added a few holiday jokes to their tours to help everyone get in the spirit!
This was a cute and fun little trip into the safari! Beware... your tour guide has lots of jokes!

“A Whole New World” of Fun

Take off on a magical ride above a bustling bazaar aboard an enchanted carpet that you control. Climb aboard a colorful, 4-passenger vehicle and take off into the air as the strings of Middle Eastern music play overhead. Rotate around a giant genie bottle and magic lamp—bobbing up and down, forward and back—as the lush flora and weathered walls of the bazaar whirl by below. But be on the lookout: An unruly camel who likes to occasionally “spit” water at flying carpets has been seen nearby!
Your Wish, Your Command
As the master of your very own flying carpet, you are in control of your flight. If you’re seated in the front row, direct how high or low you fly by moving an onboard lever up or down. If you’re sitting in the back row, pressing a magic scarab will tip your flying carpet forward or backward.

Jaxon and his daddy took a spin on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin!

One thing I love about Disney is their awesome parades! They know how to get you excited, dancing around and enjoying every single moment while you are here!

The Adams Family would be introduced to Space Mountain!

Zoom Through the Galaxy

Journey throughout the cosmos to the furthest reaches of the galaxy and back! Navigate a shadowy, neon-lit space station and make your way to a bustling Control Tower, passing a constellation of glowing astronaut training stations along the way. Inside a futuristic launch pad, board a sleek rocket-shaped vehicle and prepare yourself for a high-flying adventure into deep space.
Take Off!
When all systems are “Go,” glide through an energy tunnel pulsating with blinking lights and ascend a 180-foot high mountain. At the top, launch into the remote blackness of the dark universe, the mysterious sounds of space and galactic music filling the void.
Journey in Space
Whiz past shooting stars and celestial satellites during your thrilling space ride. Behold streaking orbs of light, wayward comets and migrant meteors. Dip and careen into the inky blackness as futuristic Starry-O-Phonic Sounds echo all around you. Feel the push and pull of gravity as you soar into a swirling wormhole for re-entry—an unforgettable first flight in space successfully completed!

I'm pretty sure Jaxon got off this ride and said "That was scary! We shouldn't have rode this ride!" We laughed, Granny screamed and before too long Jaxon wanted to ride this again!

Now it was time for lunch!
We had reservations at the Crystal Palace and lunch would be with a few extra guests!

A Buffet with Character

Join Winnie the Pooh and a few of his Pals for a willy, nilly, silly good time! Inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s, The Crystal Palace brims with light, topiaries and tropical palms—and is an enchanting spot to meet some favorite Disney Friends!
Plus, while you dine on scrumptious fare, Disney Characters stop by for laughs, photos and autographs.

Jaxon loved this lunch!
(He even got out and danced with them!)

Piglet managed to get in a picture with these two!

I love the side of Cinderella's Castle!
(We only walked by it like 100 times! Ha!)
Oh hey... let's get another family photo!

Now it was time to check out a new ride... Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

Rock Around Like Never Before

Whistle a cheery “Heigh-Ho” because the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is rolling into Fantasyland!
Just like in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, make your merry way across the rolling stone bridges and through a forest where you’ll find the Dwarfs’ cottage and all the stars from the film: Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Bashful, Sneezy, Happy, Dopey and, of course, Snow White herself.
Then, grab your lantern and your map, and hold on tight…it’s time to ride into the mine “where a million diamonds shine” on the rockingest, rollingest, twistiest train ride ever!  Feel a rush of excitement, and enchantment too, as you take off on this first-of-its-kind ride system: swinging up and down large lifts, cruising around sharp banks and swaying through exhilarating turns.

I highly recommend this ride! So. Much. Fun.
Make sure you put this on your FastPass selection as it's a hard ride to get onto (aka: long lines)

 (Granny's face cracks me up!)
Sadly we only got to ride this one once but we loved it!

Now it was time to experience "It's A Small World"!
(This would be my sister's favorite ride.... just kidding!)

“The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed”

Sing along to the classic anthem of world peace during a delightful musical boat tour hosted by the children of the world. From a colorful dock, climb aboard a cozy boat and set sail along the Seven Seaways Waterway on a 10-minute journey. Amid a vibrant, multi-colored backdrop exquisitely crafted out of papier-mâché, glitter and fabric, behold a cast of almost 300 traditionally dressed, dimple darlings from nearly every corner of the globe sing a simple song in their native language about universal harmony and dance. Travel to all 7 continents and, by journey’s end, see for yourself that it truly is a small world after all.
Set Sail!
From the snow-capped Swiss Alps to the golden Serengeti, the children of the world are ready to make your acquaintance. During your tour, experience a rainbow of diverse cultures from such far-off locales as:
  • Scandinavia
  • The British Isles
  • Western Europe
  • Eastern Europe
  • The Middle East
  • Asia
  • Africa
  • Antarctica
  • South America
  • Australia and the South Pacific Islands
Before you return home, the children reunite for a grand finale, reminding us of the common bonds of friendship, laughter and happiness we share—and that if we see the world through the eyes of a child, we’ll realize we are all basically the same.

It's a cute idea but shew wee the music for this ride is way too loud!

Jaxon really wanted to ride the Prince Charming Regal Carousel so his daddy rode with him!

We thought we were going to meet Ariel but instead we jumped on her ride!

A Fish Out of Water

Relive the tale of how one lucky little mermaid found true love—and legs! Enter Prince Eric’s castle through an underground cavern at low tide, board a colorful clamshell and take the plunge. You’ll become part of a world where mermaids dream of dancing, fish form a conga line, evil sea witches ensnare souls and unlikely pairs fall in love… and live happily ever after.
Look at This Stuff
Hear classic songs, relive magical moments and visit memorable places from Disney's The Little Mermaid during your underwater adventure—from Ariel's gadget-filled grotto to a boisterous crab-conducted bandstand to a sinister eel-infested lair.
Emerge from the ocean’s depths and watch as Prince Eric and Ariel exchange intimate gazes aboard a rowboat then celebrate their union with a fairytale wedding finale. Immersive special effects make you feel like you’re really there, while new hand-drawn animation sequences depict Ariel as she is best known and loved.
On your undersea journey, you'll encounter an ocean of beloved characters from the film, including Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle, King Triton and Ursula the sea witch—looming over you at 7.5 feet tall and 12 feet wide!

I am so glad we climbed in the clamshell and took a ride!

Momma really wanted to see the 3:00 PM parade so we found our spot on the front row and waited for it to start! (Of course some guy kept pushing his way to the front to get a better view and Greg had to let him know that he needed to step back so his family could see - I don't think the guy clearly understood what was being said)

Here's the video of the parade (Brandon recorded it for me so I could take photos) and it was awesome! So much detail goes into everything Disney does to really make these stories and characters come to life!

Festival of Fantasy Parade....
Loved this parade!

Now it was time for the girls to see Cinderella.....
You see we had some very special race medals for Cinderella to sign as we have certainly earned this virtual race! She was super nice and so surprised at how cool these medals were!

I have been waiting for a long time to get these babies signed as well as completing this virtual walk with my momma and sister! (Highly recommended checking out all the Disney themed race medals from Virtual Run World!

http://virtualrunworld.com/
After visiting with Cinderella I had one more request for her....
My cousin's little girl, Janie is 3-years old and loves Cinderella. She really wanted to go to Walt Disney World with us. In order to let her know that Cinderella really wanted to see her I asked Cinderella to send a special message back home..... She nailed it!

I can only imagine getting a special message from someone like Cinderella! It was absolutely perfect and I was so impressed with her willingness to make little Janie's day! She certainly went above and beyond her job and it was greatly appreciated!

Jaxon wanted to ride Space Mountain one more time so we hurried over to get in line!
(Granny would sit this one out)
Jaxon said this ride wasn't scary... it was FUN!
So. Much. Fun.

Pictures just don't do this place justice....
You've gotta see it in real life!

We had to rush to see the first parade and we didn't get very good seats... still something about seeing Santa Claus with snow coming down that makes you feel like a kid again! Just a quick view of what we saw and thankfully we would stay long enough to see the parade again with a much better view!

The lights on Cinderella's Castle were awesome and the show was really cool!

Time for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas......
Totally awesome parade!
(Sorry pictures aren't as good... we had to sit on the curb so others behind us could see!)

Next up was the light/firework shows....

Here's the first show and this video just doesn't do it justice! Truly magical and Disney knows how to make you believe in magic!

This is the second show and loved the fireworks! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

While we all earned every single one of these steps today our recap picture would be for the girls! Over 24,000 steps and a little over 10 miles for this day it was time to catch some sleep! We only have one more day here but it's been great so far!
