March 1, 2016 ~ Today at the Women's Network luncheon they announced the 2016 ATHENA Leadership and the ATHENA Young Professional finalists. I was surprised as well as honored and humbled to be one of three finalists for the 2016 ATHENA Young Professional Award.
The ATHENA Leadership awards are presented to women or men who are honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.
This year marks the 22nd year of the ATHENA Leadership Award and the 8th year for the ATHENA Young Professional Award!

ATHENA Leadership® Award
ATHENA International’s mission is to
support, develop and honor women leaders, inspire women to achieve their full
potential and create balance in leadership.
The ATHENA Leadership® Model
focuses on personal traits of strong, successful leaders. The model captures
the spirit and collaborative leadership style often exemplified in women
leaders, while also recognizing the importance of traits such as courageous
acts and fierce advocacy in the pursuit of excellence.
ATHENA Leadership® Award
recipients are chosen for displaying excellence, creativity and initiative in
their business or profession, providing valuable service to improve the quality
of life in their community and helping women reach their full leadership
potential.
Women’s Network awarded the first
ATHENA Leadership® Award in Columbia, MO in 1995 to Linda Arnold. Since
then, the ATHENA International Award committee has annually honored a business
leader from the community at the ATHENA International Award luncheon. The
ATHENA International Award program seeks to inspire others to achieve
excellence in their professional and personal lives.

ATHENA Young Professional® Award
Women’s Network is pleased to

quarter century history of honoring exceptional leaders. By presenting this
award in Columbia we are acknowledging the contributions and importance of our
local emerging leaders.
